Recently God has answered prayer for a lady named Chennamma. She is pictured here between Gideon and Sarah, EE trained workers for remote villages, who have been trying to penetrate a people group in south India for several years. Many times Gideon and Sarah visited her and shared in her own language (Telugu), the message about Jesus and His saving power and healing touch.

Chennamma testified that she had suffered over the past 12 years with an issue of blood. Her husband, a staunch Hindu and a temple priest, had performed various poojas to deliver his wife out of her infirmity but his efforts proved futile. Then he tried allopathic doctors who conducted many tests and treated her with various medicines, but her problem was still not solved.

Chennamma was quite interested in the gospel but her husband was so adamant that he would not allow her to accept this truth. Chennamma would plead to her husband to permit her to go for the meetings in their village and for prayer, but her husband would lock her in the house and go out to the temple.

As believers of the village prayed earnestly for her, the Lord started dealing with her husband, softening his heart. He finally agreed to her going out for the meeting for prayer. Chennamma immediately rushed to the house of a believer friend, Mary, even though it was midnight. She woke up Mary and pleaded to be taught how to pray. Chennamma repeated the prayers several times, overjoyed and confident that Jesus alone was the answer to her problems.

The next day, Gideon and Sarah anointed her with oil and prayed in the presence of the newly formed church. The Lord miraculously touched her and healed her of her sickness. Later Chennamma told Sarah she was completely cured and she praised God for His work in her life. Her desire now is to witness to her entire village about Jesus and His saving power.
